What were you thinking of?
Did you think I would stay?
Frozen, in limbo endlessly?
Spin my web of reverie.
I’m hanging on by one thin thread.
Dear God, what must you think of me?
Haunting dreams fill my nights:
Tumbling through my mind and turning me to ice.
An avalanche of desperation:
Falling down to cover me in desolation.
Tattered remnants of my pride, fluttering like rags around my heart.
My feelings lay like shattered glass.
They drift away, scattered ash.
I was just a convenience, an actress in your play but never the starring part.
My tears fall, somehow unreal.
And, time goes on like some giant unseen wheel
Fatalistic thoughts pin me to the ground.
My wings are broken and I will fly never more.
